Meet Connie!
In her late 60's who made huge changes in her life with consistent exercise 3-4 days a week.

Hello, I am Margaret Hofmann, the Owner of Agers In Condition LLC in Columbus, OH. People call me the Trainer To The Agers. I'm a 30-year fitness industry health & exercise professional & personal trainer who specializes in training older adults over age 50. Proud to be ACE-Certified, with 2 degrees in the field. I hold specialty certifications in Senior Fitness, Balance & Mobility, Functional Training & Fitness Nutrition. Don't hesitate to contact me to make changes now. Free 30-minute consultations.
Functional training is my specialty. I believe agers must train up on their feet as much as possible, handling ground reaction forces, gravity, while moving in multiple planes using a variety of training aids. You get more accomplished in a shorter amount of time. I don't like to put a lot of limitations on agers. Many agers are doing amazing things in their 80's and 90's. It's important that I keep the workouts safe, fun and interesting. I start all sessions with movement preparation exercises after a complete and thorough fitness assessment has been conducted. I concentrate on mobility work in the prevention of falls, cardiorespiratory conditioning, and strength and power work. Agers can train for power and balance can be improved upon at any age. Pricing depends on length of session, 15, 30 or 45 minutes, and training format, 1 on 1, with a partner or in a small group. I prefer to train you in the comfort of your own home, or you can come to me at one of my training locations.
I am not a registered Dietitian or Nutritionist; however, I can share basic nutrition and hydration tips and offer suggestions related to your unique situation. You will stay up-to-date on the latest trends that affect the ager community. I talk a lot about gut health...the gut is the second brain and drives our entire health. The calves are the second heart, and the hips are the transmission in the body. Keep this in mind: We are what we eat, drink, and keep! Our lifestyle and nutritional, and hydration habits will affect our entire health, including the brain. Is this a goal of yours to age with good brain health, retaining memory? It's a goal of mine. Exercise is the best thing you can do for your brain. So do something you enjoy, and eat and hydrate well for overall good health and quality of life.
It is critical that agers train properly to decrease their risk for an event, such as a fall. The number 1 way to prevent a fall is to get on an individualized exercise program. This is where I come into play. However, if group training is what you enjoy, these group classes will be a great alternative. My classes are 45 minutes in length, with some rest periods built in, consisting of stationary drills, power drills, and movement drills, all using a variety of fun training aids, creating games, and with brain training layered in to improve memory and cognition. Tip: Start working on balance now even if you are not over 50 years of age.

Owner of AIC, Columbus, OH. ACE-Certified Personal Trainer, FT, SF, FN, Author.
I have spent my entire career in athletics, as a college vb and sb coach, & health & fitness. After 30 years in the fitness field, the best piece of advice I could give anyone is to find your why, start now & don't put off activity/exercise any longer. Get in condition & address health issues in your 40's, 50's & 60's before you move into the 70's & beyond. This saying is so true: It's never too late to start exercising! I have worked with agers at 98 & 99 years of age & they have seen improvements. Maybe you just want to remain independent in your own home, continue to play your favorite sport, lose some weight or improve your activities of daily living. Whatever your concerns, don't hesitate to reach out, we can talk by phone or in person. I offer a complimentary 30-minute Q&A session. It would be my pleasure to help you envision your next steps.
